If you make a promise, be sure to deliver on it — take action, stay determined and follow through. Do this enough, and your word becomes something worth believing in.
Work is not fun
Neither is taking out the garbage, washing the dishes, or going to class.
But those things can be, if you make them. Turn everything you do into a game — or at least something close to it — and you’ll be surprised at how easy these chores become.
All it takes is a simple change of perspective.
What is your word worth?
Work will always be there
But your friends and family won’t. Know your priorities and spend more time with those who really matter.
Get into the cloud
By now, many people have heard about the cloud, but few of us actually make use of it. The cloud allows us to save and access our documents wherever there’s internet access. Imagine a world where everything is backed up onto the cloud - a world where we no longer worry about losing physical data.
So go ahead and leave your flash drive at home, forget your laptop in a taxi, and crash your computer with a virus. It’s fine because all your information will still be there. That’s the beauty of the cloud.
Two great cloud storage services I would recommend are Evernote and Dropbox. They’re both based on the freemium structure, meaning it’s free to use unless you’re a super-user, in which case you’d just pay a fee for extra storage. Try them out and let me know what you think.
Off to the cloud.
Truth of life
It’s not about how much money you have, where you live, what job you have, or which group you hang out with with. At the end of the day, it’s about how you carry yourself as a person.
Clean it up
It’s surprising how much of your personal information is floating around on the web these days. More websites have direct access to your personal information than ever before.
So start 2012 fresh. Take a few minutes to clean up some of your online app permissions and reclaim your internet privacy.
Quote of the Week
“When men are easy in their circumstances, they are naturally enemies to innovations.” -Joseph Addison
Go with the flow
Don’t waste your time worrying about what might happen tomorrow, because life is full of surprises. Learn to place your trust in the future and enjoy the ride.
Something good is coming your way.
The gift of attention
Giving gifts does not mean you need to spend a lot of money. In fact, it doesn’t have to cost anything at all! Remember that your personal attention is an invaluable asset - a handwritten card or a thoughtful toast is often worth more than the latest toy or gadget.
Today, call someone you haven’t spoken to in a long time and give them a gift that can’t be replaced.
Evil bosses are no match for your unwavering calmness
If you don’t believe me, just watch some more kung-fu movies. Between the gory fight scenes and ridiculous chase sequences, they somehow always manage to include the importance of finding inner peace. Calmness inevitably leads to success.
Woo sah.
